Interior decorating, Denver

Three elements, in concert.

Faux finishing has long been one of the most elegant ways to accent a Denver home, because it touches all three.

  • Composition

The spatial placement of everything in a room. Many people explore it through the ancient Chinese philosophy of feng shui — a local interior decorator who specializes in it can go deeper.

  • Texture

Fabrics, and the use of metal, wood and stone on walls, floors, and around windows and doors.

  • Color

Color completes the theme, reinforcing the composition and accenting the textures. Artwork that complements your palette strengthens it further.

A faux finish can capture all three at once: a soft glaze changes how a room's proportions read, while a more complex finish lends texture and depth — each depending on the colors you choose.

Try colors at home

Paint the room virtually first.

Most paint makers let you upload a photo of your own space and try colors on it. For interior and faux finish work, Benjamin Moore offers the most diverse selection and the most current color trends; for exteriors, we find their paints the most durable and fade-resistant.

Color varies from screen to screen. That's why we provide real color and finish samples — and sample boards — before any work begins.

Exterior colors & your HOA

Get approval faster.

Many visualizers let you upload a photo of your house and change body and trim colors until you find a combination you love. Paint it digitally first, then email a screenshot or print a color copy for your HOA — it can save everyone time in the approval process.

Remember: the colors matter, but how the exterior is prepared is what makes the paint last.
